Shalimar Bagh

Built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Nur Jehan, Shalimar, 15 kms from the TRC, is a beautiful garden with sweeping vistas over gardens and lakes, and shallow terraces. The garden is 539 m by 182 m and has four terraces, rising one above the other. A canal lined with polished stones and supplied with water from Harwan runs through the middle of the garden. The fourth terrace, by far the best, was once reserved for royal ladies.

Darjeeling the Queen of the hills


Darjeeling is also called 'Queen of the hills'. Kollam in Kerala


Kollam, also known as Quilon or Desinganadu, is the place which takes the credit for being the hub of the countrys cashew trading and processing industry. Affording an impeccable blend of scenic surrounding, tradition and hospitality, Kollam is often referred to as the dreamland of Kerala. The first foreign community to settle in Kollam were Chinese. Trade relations were established as early as 14th century.The first among the Europeans to land in this prosperous town were Portuguese, followed by Dutch and then British. Kollam in the bygone days was famous for its palaces and the place was sometimes called as the City of Palaces . The region also has a reputation for cashew plantations.

Munnar in Kerala


Munnar, premium hill station in located in Kerala, state in South India. Munnar hills are situated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level, which is situated at the confluence of three-mountain stream - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. . Located in the southern western Ghat the place is encircled by wooded hills of the Annamalai Ranges, with the to wearing bulk of Anamudi, which is peninsular India’s highest peak, at 2695m.

Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi; Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking. The high ranges of Munnar were earlier known as Kannan Devan Hills, named after a certain Kannan Devan, who had been land lord in the Anchanad Valley on the eastern side of the district. The main cultivation crops in Munnar are Tea and Coffee. The entire area is also known as "high range" and rarely Kannan Devan Hills, from which the famous brand of the Tatas gets its name.

AGRA

History of Agra is amply evident from the numerous historical monuments in and around the city. Though the history of Agra city is linked with the Mughal dynasty, numerous other rulers also contributed to the rich history of Agra. Agra was founded by Sikandar Lodhi (Lodhi dynasty; Delhi Sultanate) in the 16th century. Babur (founder of the Mughal dynasty) also stayed for sometime in Agra and introduced the concept of square Persian-styled gardens here. Emperor Akbar built the Agra fort; Jahangir beautified it with palaces and gardens. Shahjahan marked the zenith of Mughal architecture, when he built the Taj. The post-Mughal era's history of Agra saw the rule of the Jats, Marathas and finally the British taking over the city.

Tamil Nadu Tourism

Beaches in India

Kovalam undoubtedly is one of India's best sea resorts. The sea applauds the beach temple in Mahabalipuram, gloriously silhouetted against the spectrum of the seven colours in the sky. Now fully developed as an international beach resort, Goa offers the best holiday villages on its beaches. Anjuna or Calangute Beach, and Miramar Bay in Panjim are quieter. Beach vendors sell all manner of kitsch in Anjuna and Calangute. You can rent beach mats and mattresses, sunglasses, and the usual tourist paraphernalia. You can even get all sorts of spaghetti, German bread and Italian food. The beach at Calangute is rocky. At Anjuna the waters are gentle and offer opportunities for boat rides, sea scooter rides, spot-the-dolphins rides, and motorboat rides. Colva and Benaulim are quieter and less crowded than Anjuna. The Fort Aguada beach offers gorgeous views that merit a visit. Sinquerim and Candolim are also quiet beaches that afford anonymity.
